Our school is a learning center for nearly 500 students in grades K-4. We're fortunate to serve a diverse community. While our school is crowded (we have two temporary classrooms this year), staff and students love being part of our school family, and we're all enthusiastic about learning and growing together.
Empowering students with the reading and writing skills they need is a major focus.
Because of our emphasis on literacy, we rely heavily on high quality, accessible books. Teachers connect students with leveled readers and other texts for reading instruction, independent reading, and more, all of which contribute to students' literacy learning.
My Project
Our school's PTO has generously funded the purchase of leveled readers for our book room, which are integral to our reading curriculum. In order to provide easy, streamlined access to the books, we need a method for organizing, cataloging, and shelving the books. Having an inviting, well organized book room will save teachers time finding the books their students need.
Please consider helping us purchase bins to organize the leveled readers in our book room.
This is an important step in improving access to our books and providing students with the materials they need to build literacy skills. Let's work together to make this happen!
