This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are simply the most caring, and helpful group of second graders. Their main goal for the next two years we have together, is creating a family environment. They want a loving and caring classroom culture. They are hard working, patient, and loving. It gives me so much joy to see their bright, smiling faces as they walk into the classroom every monrning. They are always willing to help one another learn by helping helping one another complete work.
My Project
I have inherited a wide variety of books from the previous teacher in our classroom. She worked in this classroom for ten years and collected many books. However, these books are outdated and are simply collecting dust. I recently purchased a few books such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Judy Moody, and Captain Underpants and ALL of my students want to read them.
Please help me fill my classroom library with interesting and relevant books my students WANT to read.
This important addition to our classroom will enhance my student's reading experiences and improve our reading engagement during silent reading.
