Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It's often said that literature can be a mirror, a way to examine yourself, or a window, a way to learn about others. This selection of books that highlight the experiences, histories, and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI).

By providing our students with access to a diverse selection of books, we can help to broaden their understanding of the world around them and promote empathy towards others.

The AAPI community has played a significant role in shaping our nation's history and culture, and it is important that we celebrate and acknowledge their contributions.

These books feature AAPI characters, authors, and illustrators, and explore the diverse range of cultures and experiences within the AAPI community. They will cover a variety of genres, including fiction, non-fiction, and memoirs, providing our students with a well-rounded understanding of the AAPI experience.

By incorporating these books into our curriculum, we can help to promote a sense of belonging and inclusion for all of our students, including those of AAPI descent. Additionally, reading books that feature AAPI characters and experiences has been shown to improve academic performance and critical thinking skills.
