Help me give my students the opportunity to read one of the best books at home and in class.

My Students
My students attend a Title One School in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Many of my students live in homes with a single working parent, and some of my students' parents are incarcerated. These children do need support from teachers and community leaders to help them be their best.
Forty percent of my class is composed of English Language Learners, and twenty percent is African American.
These children often struggle, because they do not have the supports at home to help them learn. All of my students are precious motivated children who simply lack the resources they need to teach their full potential.
My Project
These materials will allow students to engage in rich literature at home and in class. This will develop the skill of being a true reader and life long learner. Children need interesting books to have at home to share with family and bring that experience back to class. My students desperately need books to read at home and in class. These books allow students to begin the habit of carrying around a good book just waiting for an extra moment to read. Having access to great books makes all the difference in developing children who love reading. Help me offer this opportunity to my students.
