Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, enthusiastic, and eager learners who have already embraced a love for reading. They’ve been diving into the first 35 books of the Magic Tree House series in Spanish, and it’s been incredible to see their excitement and progress. These books have sparked their imagination, improved their language skills, and encouraged them to explore new ideas.

With this project, I’m requesting additional books to continue the Magic Tree House series and introduce them to the fascinating Who Was...? history series in Spanish.

By adding these resources, I aim to keep their love for reading alive while also teaching them about historical figures and events in a way that’s engaging and accessible.

Each book will make a difference in their learning journey. The continuation of the Magic Tree House series will allow them to follow Jack and Annie’s adventures, reinforcing reading comprehension and vocabulary in Spanish. Meanwhile, the Who Was...? series will introduce them to inspiring figures like Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., and Albert Einstein, helping them connect with history and understand the world.

My goal for this project is to nurture lifelong readers and learners. These students are special because they’re not just learning to read—they’re reading to learn. Watching them get excited about books and ask thoughtful questions about what they’re reading is truly inspiring. This project will provide them with tools to continue exploring, imagining, and growing, one book at a time.
