My Students
My students rock! If you were to walk into my classroom the kids may not stand out to you. You might think that you are looking at 24 ordinary 4th graders. However, I get the chance every year to really see them for who they are, and help them grow and change. These 24 students come from different backgrounds, cultures, and income levels. The are all so different and unique. My job is to help them learn, and respect each other's differences.
My Project
This year we are struggling to apply our language and grammar skills to our writing. What better way to fix this than to teach language and grammar with writing. We will use these books not only for language and grammar, but also to help us learn about different cultures. Many of these books come from different cultures, and teach about overcoming obstacles.
These books can help my students apply what they are learning in class, but also teach them lessons they can apply to their lives. Ultimately, the goal is to help these students to be successful in the real world.
