My Students

This school year I have the pleasure of teaching twenty fifth graders virtually. They are all home learning for various reasons. They are the happiest students I have ever taught. They love school and really want to learn. When it is time for them to go at the end of the day, they ask if they can stay longer. They laugh and learn everyday. They are kind, sweet and very eager to learn.

My Project

The best way to improve reading , is to read more. With these books, my students will grow to be stronger readers. There is nothing like holding a book in your own hands and turning the pages. They have enjoyed being read to, but reading at their own pace is so very important. With these class sets of books, my class will be able to read and participate in literature circles virtually.

With these new books, my students will have the opportunity to independently read more and read more books on their grade level.

When the students are in the school building, they have the opportunity to borrow books from the classroom library. However, during this pandemic, they don't have the opportunity to borrow from school or their local libraries.
