Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my classroom my students love to read! They love to read, but unfortunately there aren't enough books for them to go around. They enjoy reading books & taking comprehension tests on the computer, but they've already read the same books over & over, so now there is nothing left for them to read.

I teach and 2nd and 3rd combination class.

I have 13 second graders, and 15 third graders. My students come from a low socio economic background. Our town is one where gang activity is everywhere. We want to empower our students, so they look forward to a college education and a future that is promising.

My Project

My students would love to have a new classroom library. They enjoy reading after they've finished their classroom work & they like to take comprehension tests on the computer. They also will be writing research papers this year, and new books would definitely come in handy for this project. They also will use the writing flipbook during writing to help them be successful at writing a paragraph.

Donations to this project will help my students by giving them books to read, and to help them become more fluent readers.

The more books they have in their classroom, the more they will want to read. The writing flipbooks will also encourage them to become better writers as well.
