Having a class set will provide my students (6 classes of 30) with a print copy of the book to follow along as we read and discuss together. This set will also be available to classrooms to also use as a novel study. Throughout the book study we will study characters, plot, setting, and theme. They will participate in meaningful discussion and look forward to story development. My students will build critical thinking skills by comparing/contrasting themes, analyzing illustrations and texts, and making real world connections. A novel study will add fun to their school day, while also helping them forge a deeper attachment to books so my students will learn to love reading.
