This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I funded, public kindergarten in southern California. About two-thirds of my students are English language learners. At our school, we strive to help students become leaders who value quality education and embrace their roles as contributing members of our diverse community. My students are amazing and your contributions will make a huge impact on them every day! Thank you.

My Project

My Kinder and TK students have been at home for the majority of the 2020/2021 school year. Many of my students do not have books at home to call their own. I would like to use these leveled box sets of comic books to send five books to each student! I will keep one copy of each book in the classroom so that we can read these books together while my little friends are staying safe at home. I also am asking for little book bags and a coloring book for each friend. Staying organized has been a tough task for these kiddos while at home and, after a long day of virtual learning, some relaxing time coloring is just what they need. Since most of our work is digital the kids have not had quite enough hands-on time for wrist development, these coloring books will help them build up these muscles while they are having fun and relaxing. Thank you for your consideration I am hopeful that together we can bring this wonderful gift to all my students.
