Help me give my students engaging books like "All Thirteen" that will prompt group discussion and build comprehension.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are excited to be back in school after the remote learning period. It's wonderful to see their energy and hear their questions, but many struggles have emerged from this tumultuous time.
Our great students in this high-needs urban school are having a hard time connecting to the work of school and to each other.
My Project
Returning students are having a difficult time comprehending grade-level texts and staying interested during class. The pandemic has left students struggling socially, emotionally, and in their reading skills. The books in this project are high-interest and low-level. Students will be able to read them in a small group, outside of a regular class setting, and have discussions with each other.
By having a chance to read diverse books that are intriguing and also easy to comprehend, students can build both literacy skills and a sense of community.
Instead of reaching for their phones, I want them to reach for a great book.
