My Students

If you were to walk into my classroom, you would be greeted by the most amazing, most incredible students. They are kind, gentle, and pure. They all have the ability to learn. The students in my classroom all have special needs.

My special education self contained classroom is located in a typical public elementary school.

The students in my classroom all have special needs. They are certified cognitively impaired and/or autistic. They learn best with practice, repetition, and more practice! They need access to leveled books that they are able to keep in their book boxes and even borrow to take home.

My Project

My students need leveled books sets (K and 1st Levels A-J both fiction and nonfiction) for guided reading lessons and home practice. I will be able to teach guided reading lessons in my classroom with these leveled readers. My students will finally be able to keep these books in their book boxes for as long as they need them to practice and reinforce their reading skills. And most importantly, I will allow these books to be borrowed by my students so they can continue to practice at home.

Having access to appropriate books for my students will absolutely improve their ability to read.

Being able to keep these books in my classroom and in the hands of my students will give them the chance to practice, practice, practice, which is the key to success in the life of a child with special needs.
