My Project

As a teacher of color, I know the importance of students seeing themselves in images and books in their classroom. I want to provide my students with books with characters with brown skin and hair similar to their locs. Learning centers are a big part of Early Childhood Classrooms. In our Libary Center, I want to provide my students with more books that reflect their cultural background.

Everyone deserves to see themselves in their books and any other form of media.

Young children are drawn to illustration; I want my pupils to see themselves in the books provided in the library center.
