Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students missed out on reading instruction and social emotional learning during critically important phases in their development. These materials could provide them sensory support and encourage a desire for reading.

Reading is such an incredibly critical skill and many of my students have significant needs in this area.

While my district has provided a curriculum, my student library has very few grade appropriate choices. I want them to be excited about reading and an engaging library can make that happen for them!

Some of my incredible students have difficulty regulating their emotions and calming their bodies. I would like to provide them with tools to help them release their energy and focus their attention. They will benefit from being taught how to use these items as tools, rather than toys, and may even find additional comfort in the sweet faces of these little squishies!
