Help me give my students the social emotional skills they need to succeed in life with books that will make it easier to teach students how to express, manage and be understanding about human emotions.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The majority of my students come from low-income households. Although they are only five years old, a lot of them have already experienced many difficult situations.
Several of my students have very unique home environments and to complicate things more for them, we had to start this year entirely virtual.
Although they are so young and this is the first school experience for some of them, they show up every day and we are working through this together. They are eager to learn and are doing their best despite the virtual learning environment.
My kindergarten students are a wonderful group of kids. They are bright-eyed and ready to explore new things. I want to give them all the tools they need to be successful in the little time I have with them this year. I cannot wait to see how far they go!
My Project
My students come from very diverse households. Although they are very little, they come to school with many problems that affect their emotions. On top of that, they show up wanting to learn, but the high expectations also cause pressures they are not used to. They develop emotions which are new and difficult to express. As a result of this, we teachers are tasked with teaching them how to identify, express, and manage their emotions on top of academic skills like reading, writing and arithmetic.
The books I am requesting will help my students develop several social emotional skills they need to be successful in life.
These skills will help them manage their feelings at home and make them better students.
This year has been especially taxing on all of us. Imagine how these kindergartners feel having their first experience of school be virtual. If the only thing I am able to teach my students is how to cope with all the changes we are having to overcome, it will be a successful year!
