Books that Can Change a Life!

My students need 30 copies of the books, "Life of Pi" and "To Kill A Mockingbird" along with 10 copies of the book "Night".

My Students

My students need to engage with fine literature that will inspire them to love reading.

My students are a lively group of 8th graders who need to read more, and need to engage with great books.

Most of my students cannot purchase their own books, and I believe that students should be able to have their own copies of books that they can use and treasure.

My Project

My students will use these books as they work with their literature circles. They will work with partners and myself in reading these books, will create projects, and will hopefully love the reading experience. Many of my students don't read full-length novels, and I am trying my best to encourage them to do so.

This project has the opportunity to change a child's perspective on reading.

By reading meaningful books, and engaging in tasks that challenge their thinking, we have the opportunity to create a community of readers. I want my students to know that video games are not their only choice when it comes to what to do in their spare time!
