Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help my students bring up their reading levels by providing them with books to read in the classroom.
The majority of my high school students are reading below grade level.
Our school is located in a Spanish-speaking neighborhood where for many, Spanish was their first language. They are bright, curious, and interested in the world around them. At our school, "READ TO ACHIEVE" is our motto.
My Project
Providing new books for my students will help open the world to them. Selecting books that interest them will encourage them to read more. In order to succeed in this world, they need to be exposed to it. Reading will give them that experience. It will open up new doors, foster their imagination, and set them off into adventures of their own making.
We all grew up with books, however, the majority of my students were not even read to as children.
Help them make reading a part of their life, something that they will grow to love and impart to their own children.
