My Students

Aren't books great? They are the foundation for learning and every level. In my second grade classroom, I use them for every subject. In science we read about magnets before we experiment. In Social Studies we read about community helpers before we meet them. Help our classroom to have more books.

My students are amazing.

While they are a part of an inner city, Title I school in Upstate, SC, they never make excuses for anything. They constantly rise to meet any challenge they are given. They are eager learners. They love to conduct science experiments, perform Reader's Theater, and write in their journals. They love Marc Brown and all the Arthur characters. They deserve the best, and it is my job to give it to them.

My Project

Each year my students perform Reader's Theater for their parents. We perform Johnny Appleseed and Arthur's Christmas. Having this class set of Arthur's Christmas will enhance our performances tremendously. With this set, I will be able to integrate more language skills into our performance and each student will have their own copy of the book during our practices, rather than sharing. This will increase their ability to read fluently, perform for an audience, and develop their speaking skills.

My students deserve all that I can give them in their education.
