Books on the Go!

Help me give my students a cart so we can take our books on the go!

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I try to keep things simple, creative, and meaningful for their learning experiences.

My students are hard-working, creative, and clever.

Their love for reading at this age is essential for me to create as a teacher. From the minute they walk into my classroom I focus on their potential to grow as a reader while they are with me. Many of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch and are raised in a poverty area. I may not be in control of their home lives; however, I can certainly teach them how to love school and reading through their experience in my classroom.

My Project

With the use of this mobile library cart I will be able to take our classroom library around to each and every student. I will be able to save time by pushing the cart to students versus having to call students up two at a time to get books.

This mobile library cart will allow me to get more books in students’ hands daily helping to create a love for reading.

We will be able to push the cart to bathroom breaks and also to other transitions in order to continue to get books in students’ hands to read. Students will be able to have access to this mobile library cart throughout the day.
