Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a second grade class of 21 students. Sixteen of these are English language learners that come from low economic backgrounds.

I have noticed that my students really enjoy Fridays when I let them listen to the Open Court story of the week. They love the sound effects, and they like to follow along with their books. Unfortunately, I don't have many books on tape in my listening center. They can be very expensive.

I would love to provide a wide variety of books on tape in my listening center for my students. The books on tape will serve as practice for their reading and also to hear correct English. Often, my students don't get to practice their English at home, so this would be perfect for them.

Your kind donation will make a huge impact in my class. My students will be motivated to read and listen to new stories. They will also serve as an independent work time activity. Your help in providing my students with interesting books on tape is truly appreciated.
