My first graders are kind, inquisitive, fun-loving, and hard working. They love to learn new things and enjoy challenging their brains! Giving my students opportunities to hear and read high-quality, engaging books is of the utmost importance in supporting my students' love of reading and learning.
Giving my students the opportunity to choose from a variety of books that reflect their interests will motivate and encourage a love of reading.
My students have requested specific books and book series' they would love to see in our classroom library. Opportunities to choose and read books of interest are powerful. My students will be more likely to enjoy and continue reading when they see themselves and their interests represented in books.
Right now my students keep their self-selected "just right" books in gallon size baggies. I would love to provide them with a sturdier, more sustainable storage solution for their books that will last for years to come.
