My Project

My students absolutely love books. What better way to build our classroom library with books that represent and reflect the students in our classroom. We have the privilege of being surrounded by many different people where we can learn and grow from each other. It's a blessing!

I want my class to be able to relate and learn from literature including many different races, cultures, family types, and special needs.

I want students to fall in love with reading by providing students with multiple opportunities to learn about different races, cultures, family times, and special needs, especially to be more inclusive.

We have been focusing on the theme of Identity and what makes us unique; yet, also, what makes us connected to one another. There are several elements to our identity and that exploration can be supported through these books.

The books that we will receive will benefit our students for many years as I hold a read-aloud every day during our Community Circle. We also would love these book for Filipino Heritage Month and Native American Heritage Month and Asian Pacific Islander Month.
