My Students

Hello! I have 22 bright and bouncing 2nd graders in my class this year. We are a Title One school with a large portion of our students qualifying as "low income" receiving free or reduced breakfast and lunch. While all of my students are amazing and smart and kind, many of them do face challenges. School is their safe space, my classroom is their second home.

Please help me to fill my classroom library with new and engaging books!

My library is lacking books for emerging readers. I would like to provide my students with popular and engaging titles to encourage their literacy both inside the classroom and at home. My school is Title One and many of the kids are at an economical disadvantage, books can help bridge the gaps they may experience.

My Project

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind.

These particular books will help students by building their basic reading skills, learning sight words, and repeated words.
