My students need all types of literature. I want to have a wide variety of genres, so all children can find and read a book that interests them. Our titles include Geronimo Stilton, Cam Jansen, A to Z Mysteries and many more.
Before you walk into my school, you may see on paper, we are a Title I school with a majority of students receiving free or reduced price lunch with limited resources for our students. However, what you will see in person is a dynamic group of young, driven leaders, who through The Leader in Me Process are making their mark in our world. We are a Lighthouse Leader in Me/Magnet Fine Arts school, which has helped transform all of our students into global thinkers who believe they have a chance in life.
My Project
I teach in an inner city school. My students frequently have little experience with literature before school. As a third grade teacher, I'm always trying to find more ways to provide interesting books for all my students. I believe it is important to have numerous styles and genres for them.
We need all types of literature.
I want to have a wide variety of genres, so all children can find and read a book that interests them. Our titles include Geronimo Stilton, Cam Jansen, A to Z Mysteries and many more. The books provided will increase my students comprehension, team building skills and love of reading.
With the addition of these books in my classroom, the students will be able to engage in meaningful book talks, have interesting books no matter their reading levels, and develop a life time love of reading.
