This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These books will help us start a classroom library of Spanish books for my heritage speakers. These books will continue to enhance the inclusive and culturally relevant classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library will be a place for students to find themselves through the books they read and continue their learning in the language they are studying. This is specially important after these past years of pandemic since students were not able to enjoy reading in class with peers nor having group discussions about relevant topics. Every book will be enjoyed by many students in my classroom and I know that it will create meaningful conversations among students. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind and my students have contributed by saying what type of books they would love to read in Spanish class. This will be a great resource for all of us.
