Help me give my students books in their home language because I want my students to read for enjoyment and not have to translate into English while reading.

My Students

I teach English as a Second Language students at an inner city school where all of my students qualify for free breakfast and free lunch. Some of them have very limited home experiences and need me to expose them to as many new things as possible.

My students have an amazing love to learn and are so eager to learn new concepts along with learning.

We complete all of our assignments in English but sometimes my students want to read in their home language. I want to encourage my students to love reading and to read for enjoyment.

My Project

As a language Arts teacher I want to help instill the love of reading books with my students. We spend all of our time reading books/materials in English and students don't have time to read for fun in their home language.

I want to have a classroom where students can read in their home language for fun and relaxation.

I want enough books in other languages that students have a variety of books to choose from and to enjoy in the classroom. Reading is a joy that I want my students to enjoy daily.
