This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their genuine enthusiasm for reading and their excitement when I recommend new books. They light up at the prospect of exploring new worlds and characters, and we are slowly but surely building a diverse classroom library. Not only do they have access to read in class, but I also encourage them to check out books and create picture sketches with summaries for their peers to recommend their favorite book. This practice fosters a sense of community and collaboration while allowing them to share their newfound knowledge and favorite stories.

Imagine the spark in their eyes when they discover a book that resonates with their passions!

I have added a variety of book series to my cart, including fiction, sci-fi, Greek mythology, horror, coming-of-age stories, and drama. These genres not only cater to their diverse interests but also encourage them to think critically and engage with different themes and concepts. By offering a selection of captivating stories, I hope to inspire a lifelong love for reading and learning.

My students often read at the start of class, during downtime, and after completing state or district tests, demonstrating their commitment to developing their skills. Each resource I provide is a stepping stone toward enhancing their understanding and appreciation of literature. Your support will help us continue nurturing this passion for reading, empowering my students to thrive both academically and personally!
