Books For The Spectrum

My students need a variety of books at their reading level (levels I through S).

My Students

Could you imagine being in a class and having no books that you could possibly read and understand? I suppose you could try to "pretend" to read these hard books - however that is not the purpose of schooling.

More than half of my incoming class this year will be reading two or three grade levels below 5th grade.

I have a strong belief that any progress whatsoever is great! Although socially they might feel below grade level, it is my job to meet them at their learning capacity and build from there.

My Project

You can make a difference in these kids lives. Reading is the gateway to all other subjects. If one cannot read, it is quite impossible to succeed in other subject areas. You can help these kids who can make progress towards reading at a 5th grade level versus reading at a 3rd grade level. Together we can make a huge impact on these kids' lives.

You can help these kids learn to read by giving them a chance.

Like adults, children have preferences in their reading choices and it's important to nurture and support these reading preferences. With a variety of books Levels I through S, we can help bring these kids up to reading grade level.
