My Project

I teach a wonderful group of students who are eager to learn but often face challenges in expressing their emotions. Many of my students come from diverse backgrounds, and some struggle with understanding and managing their feelings. The ability to recognize, name, and deal with emotions is something that can truly impact their well-being, relationships, and academic success.

These students are at an age where developing emotional intelligence is crucial.

Learning about their feelings through books gives them a safe space to explore complex emotions, whether it's dealing with frustration, understanding kindness, or learning how to resolve conflicts. These books will help my students not only recognize their own emotions but also understand and empathize with others.

The reading materials I am asking for will give my students the opportunity to dive into stories that reflect their own experiences and challenges. Through engaging characters and relatable situations, they’ll see themselves in the stories, making emotional lessons feel personal and meaningful. With stories that explore emotions, my students will have the tools to identify what they’re feeling and find healthy ways to respond.

These books will also ignite a passion for reading. Many of my students are hesitant readers, but when they see how a good story can help them make sense of their emotions and navigate tough situations, it will inspire them to pick up books more often. This project will not only support their emotional growth but also foster a love of reading that will stay with them for years to come.
