This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are all wonderful to be with as we go through this school year. Most of my students speak another language at home and are very behind academically due to the pandemic. My students are very excited to read when they have short interesting articles.

My Project

These resources will make a difference in students' learning because the more book titles we offer students during reading workshops, the more student choice we place in the hands of our learners. The more student choice a child receives in reading, the more attentive and focused the child will be while reading. For example, a student reading below level but is offered books about their favorite topics and will begin to enjoy reading like never before. Students interested in the subject will naturally display higher comprehension of the reading material.
