Books for the Classroom: An Opportunity for Students to Expand!

My students need books that offer chances to enter many new worlds. Series such as Harry Potter and Ranger's Apprentice give the students this opportunity.

My Students

Our students are a wonderful group each year. The classroom these books will help support is an inclusion classroom. That means the students within the classroom range from students that need a little extra support to students that are gifted.

My students love to read and will devour a book series time and again.

With students coming from many different ethic and social backgrounds it makes for a wonderful group of kids. This is why I try to maintain a classroom library that will encourage all readers no matter their background.

My Project

Harry Potter, Ranger's Apprentice, The Penderwicks, and the Borrowers are all books that allow students the opportunity to enter and learn about entirely new worlds. Including these books into the classroom library allows me to encourage students to choose books that they can enjoy. This is especially true if the book is park of a series that can offer the students a chance to dive deeper into a world they know they enjoy.

Book series like the "Who Was" series allows students that may not be interested in fantasy worlds to learn more about the great people that have helped positively shape our world.
