Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful group of second grade students. I have a very diverse classroom environment that makes all of my students feel safe and welcomed. I have a wide range of students who come from all different backgrounds and each has a story that is unique and plays a factor in their learning. I run my classroom as if we are a family, a team, as leaders for each other. We support each others learning and we celebrate all our success.

I teach at a Title 1 School.

All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. For the majority of students, this is their only chance of the day to have a meal. Despite any hardship that my students face in their home lives, the students in my class are eager to learn and love school. Every child that enters my room is loved and know that they are each and every day.

My Project

I am asking for these books that will be used when teaching all Common Core Standards for second grade. Some books will be able to be used for more than one standard. Some of the things that students will be using these books for will be for comparing and contrasting. They will also be using them for retelling and recounting details from the story.

With these books I will be able to show students the importance of learning with reading.

Students will have the opportunity to explore many different texts not only learn to love reading but learn how to be successful in reading. Thank you for your consideration to donating to my wonderful 2nd graders!
