My Students
These exemplar texts will allow me to provide my students with rich literature that is engaging and will teach them how to make and keep friends.
Six of my students have severe special needs, and a big part of their disability makes communication difficult; therefore they do not have many friends.
I need these books to teach them how to be a friend, how to communicate with other children, and the value of friendship. The rest of my class will also benefit from this lesson, because they all are classified in the low socioeconomic level, most are minority, and they do not have books at home.
My Project
These books will change the way my students interact with each other and everyone else for the rest of their life. The skills that they will learn from these books will help them become more social, kind, considerate, understanding, and more in touch with the way they are communicating.
My students need these books to not only improve their reading, but to become better people.
These texts will teach them skills that will make them better citizens, friends, and more social.
