Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at Western Hills Primary School where I teach 2nd grade. The School where I work is 84% free and reduced lunch. Moreover, most of our children come from low income housing near our school.
As a result of this situation, many of the children have very limited access to Science and scientific activities. As many are aware, Science scores and interest in Science is at an all time low. I would like to do away with that statistic with the children in my classroom.
Thus, I have created this proposal for Scientific books, which cover some major scientific areas in second grade. The book libraries are entitled: Rock and Soil Library, Insects Book Library, Force and Motion Book Library, Plants Book Library, Animals Book Library, Matter Book Library, Solar System Book Library, and the Weather Book Library.
