My Students
My students are 3 to 5 years old. All of my students have qualified for and are receiving special education services. Their special education needs include speech/language services, pre-academics, behavior intervention, and social skills instruction. We do all of this through play.
Just like all preschoolers, my students learn by playing, getting messy, being noisy and having fun.
The skills we focus on in preschool are the foundation for students' success in the future. It's amazing to realize that the playing we do in preschool sets the stage for so much more in my students' lives.
My Project
The book tree will help to display books where students can easily see them and choose them. Because the tree is flat and secures to the wall it will be safer for students and take up less space in our classroom. When students can easily see the books they are more likely to engage with them.
The board book library contains 30 board books centered on 6 themes.
Things that go, Me and my Family, On the Farm, Nursery Rhymes, Colors and Shapes and Ocean Animals. These themes are of high interest to my students, year after year. These books will be read by not just this years' students but for many years to come.
