This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work with a wonderful and diverse group of culturally and linguistically rich learners in transitional kindergarten through second grade. As a teacher, my goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and student-centered classroom environment. My students are unique individuals, each bringing their own strengths and abilities to our learning community.
These books were thoughtfully chosen to support the academic and social-emotional growth of my diverse TK–2nd grade students.
Titles such as Taste Your Words, Too Much!, and My Magical Feelings will help my students recognize and manage emotions, while books like The Very Clever Consonant Blends build essential phonics and early reading skills. Stories such as Thank You, Mr. Falker and Eraser promote perseverance and self-worth, and engaging chapter books like Eerie Elementary and Miss Nelson Is Missing! encourage a love for reading. Luna Muna introduces STEM concepts through an imaginative and inclusive lens, and books like Interrupting Chicken and I Am King Chameleon! highlight individuality and humor. Together, these books help create a well-rounded, inclusive classroom library that reflects and supports the needs of my students.
