My Students

The school in which I work is a full title building. My students come from low socioeconomic families. Many of my students have lived hard lives before they ever walk in my door in kindergarten. My goal is to create a classroom library that is full of books to help them become the best learners they can be.

My Project

I am collecting books for my classroom. A good book can help a child understand themselves better than anything else.

I will be using these books in morning meetings to help my students understand themselves and others and what is going on in our world.

These books will help to open windows of understanding for my students. The goal is for them to take what they learn from the stories and use the newfound skill in their everyday lives. Doing this will help them become better citizens and community partners.
