My Project
In our Pre-K classroom, we focus on one letter of the alphabet each week, and I use books as a key part of helping my students connect letters to sounds, stories, and real-world vocabulary. Each book in this project was carefully chosen to match a specific letter, theme, or skill we’re working on—from “B is for Bear” with Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? to “M is for Mouse” with If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.
These read-alouds help spark curiosity, build vocabulary, teach early comprehension, and support classroom discussions.
My students are 3- to 5-year-olds, many of whom are experiencing school for the first time and come from low-income households. Having access to a rich variety of books allows me to create engaging lessons that support all types of learners, from those just beginning to recognize letters to those ready to explore deeper story elements.
By donating to this project, you’re helping me build a classroom library full of meaningful stories that will be used daily to strengthen literacy, support our letter-of-the-week curriculum, and most importantly—foster a lifelong love for reading.
