My Project

As an ELA teacher, I work to maintain an extensive and engaging classroom library; I am hoping to refresh my library with books my students are excited to read. My students this year are so eager to enjoy books, and I want to keep that enthusiasm alive.

Students should have access to books that they enjoy, that they feel connected to, and that represent the world around them.

It is, in my opinion, the best way to create lifelong readers. Many of the books on the list are there because students have specifically requested them, or because my older copies of the books have been read to destruction, and it is important that students' preferences and interests are honored.
