Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a school social worker at an elementary school, and I have found that books have been extremely powerful tools during counseling sessions, whether students are in need of social skills, coping skills, family changes support, self-confidence skills, friendship skills, crisis support and more!

My goal with this project is to increase my counseling room library so that the students I service can have access to SEL books of various topics that they can connect with along with a calming kit.

My students are incredible and resilient! They are great advocates for their mental health needs at such a young age, and I am honored to provide them with a safe space.
