The 67 eager fourth graders in my class are excited about learning! My students are making great progress and growth this year. I have found that my students are most successful when they are provided with differentiated learning opportunities that meet their individualized learning styles.
There are students from all over the United States who come to our school by choice to obtain the best education that they can.
We believe in providing our students with an exceptional learning experience. It is very important to us that we help each of our students achieve their very best by setting high expectations and supporting our students as they reach those achievements. As a public charter school, we receive less funding than a traditional public school, yet we are consistently able to do more with less. We are proud of the great progress our students are making and looking forward to even greater achievements.
My Project
Children require a diverse amount of reading material in a variety of genres as they grow in their reading fluency and reading interest. To ensure that my class has at least 15 books per student to facilitate this growth in a natural, organic way, a class literacy center that accommodates for my individual student needs is essential.
Children need to see themselves in the books that they read, so a wide selection of books to access in their class literacy center is vital to accommodate for this necessary representation.
When you provide a plethora of chapter books, graphic novels, bestsellers, classics, and informational text that are inclusive in topic and scope, a child can unlock their potential to grow in their reading comprehension and their importance to our larger global society.
