My Students

My students are amazing! They are first graders, just getting their first taste of education. They are learning to read, write, do math, and push themselves academically to do their best! I teach at a Title I school and the majority of my student are on free or reduced-price lunch. I have several students who have learning challenges, several who are English language learners, and a few who are high achieving and need to have their learning fostered at a higher level!

My Project

After 30 years I've been asked to move to first grade and I'm so excited! We are incorporating a literacy-based learning model this year and my students need access to many different levels and types of literature. I'd like to provide book bags and differentiated books that will appeal to all of my students.

My students will have access to fiction and non-fiction books that are geared toward both beginning readers and advanced readers!

Most of my students were at home last year learning virtually and maybe coming to me lacking their foundational reading skills. These books will help me ensure that we will be able to work hard to get them caught up and loving literature!
