This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first and second graders are enthusiastic learners, many speaking more than one language and learning to read English as their second language in school. Though I have a large selection of beautiful books in my classroom, I do not have leveled reading books for small group instruction.

Small reading group instruction is where I do my best, most targeted instruction.

The specialized books I am requesting help facilitate student learning, moving them from one level to the next. The best part of my job is seeing students move from an instructional level to independence, and then onto a new and more challenging book level, which is why it is so important to have the range of leveled reading books I am requesting for my students.
