This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

ttle of the Books is a yearly competition held at schools across the United States. Students work in teams to read 10-15 books and then compete in a Jeopardy style trivia competition based on what they have read. The winning teams are then awarded prizes based on their scores. This competition is a classic motivator to engage students in not only reading challenging texts, but exposing them to new genres and topics that they may not have otherwise explored on their own.

Therefore, I am asking for 5 copies of 11 different titles on the 25/26 Battle of the Books middle grades list, to get a Battle of the Books competition started at my school.

My school has only held this competition for a few years so we need to continue growing our library of books so that there are no repeats for returning 5th grade students if they choose to participate again for a second year. This will be an exciting endeavor for the 4th and 5th graders at my school!
