Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach over seven hundred students ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade at two Title One schools. My students live in a rural part of South Carolina and come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. This project would support all of the students at both of my schools, including ESOL and self-contained classes.

My students are creative, smart, and eager to have hands-on learning activities that will prepare them to become twenty-first century learners.

I want all of my students to have the opportunity to create artwork with all the materials they need and provide them with a fun, engaging, and hands-on learning environment.

My Project

We love books in the art room! Over the past year, I have been teaching more art lessons that are based on children's literature. This project is to bring some of our favorite books to the art room. I am also requesting two art resource books that would help me create more clay and fiber arts projects with my students.

I want my students to leave my classroom with a love of art and reading!
