My Students

To a sixth grade student, reading can be daunting if you can't find a book you're interested in. At our school, the sixth grade students are a lively, energetic group. They frequently struggle in reading, but not because they can't do it. We find that our students do not have the ability to purchase books from the store or rent them from the library as often as they might need.

Every school year student interests change, and with those changes, the teachers in our school want to provide our students with what they are passionate about.

My Project

The materials we are requesting will make a huge difference in our students' lives. They struggle to find books they are interested in. We want to show our students that reading can be fun and not a chore. With the books we are requesting, our students will be able to read books that draw them in.

There is nothing better than reading a book and feeling like you are a part of it.

Our school participates in an Accelerated Reading Program. This requires students to read books and take quizzes on them. This affects their reading grade. With a variety of books to choose from students will be able to reach their goals!
