My Students
My class is comprised of 18, enthusiastic, first graders. Our community is diverse and full of culture and history. Students come from a range of socio-economic backgrounds. Our school is trauma sensitive with many students having multiple ACES. I want them to take pride in their work, their school, and their learning environment. It is my students time to shine, and I am so excited to help them achieve success. These students are going to grow into positive, active community members.
My Project
The read aloud I have selected for this project are going to foster a love of learning and reading in my students. First grade is where students learn to become readers, learners, and community members. By having an assortment of texts that incorporate different characters and topics, it gives students a chance to see themselves in the books. This project is going to give me the chance to reach ALL of my students through literature. I am so excited for the upcoming year to get started reading, learning, and growing with my students through the texts that YOU are helping me get!
