My school is a Title I school, which means it has been designated as being highest poverty in our district. Our school is a place where collaboration and parent involvement are the key to social and academic growth in our students. We have a safe and nurturing environment to help students blossom. Our students are beautifully unique and embrace learning.
Our students will change the world for the better.
They are innovative, loving, generous, kind, and are very grateful for all of the challenges and blessings that life brings. These kids inspire our entire school. They always want to know more and the result of their growth every day is incredible.
My Project
What’s a Kindergarten classroom without books?
By providing access to a rich classroom library, teachers promote greater amounts of reading, increased reading frequency, and more diverse reading experiences among their students, thus helping them to attain greater levels of reading achievement.
The classroom library will support my students in reading and writing instruction. The goal is to build an adequate collection of fiction and nonfiction materials at enough different levels to accommodate the many interests and abilities of students. Students will have access to the classroom library during independent reading, choice time, and at various points throughout the day.
The classroom library will help increase the literacy rate for my students and help their ability of learning to read.
