Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.
Our students are always eager and ready to learn for the day.
One hundred percent of students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our students come from a variety of different backgrounds, experiences, and opportunities. Our diversity allows us to have a wide array of experiences which can be drawn upon by creating an engaging classroom environment where all students are able to focus and thrive. Student success is our number one priority.
My Project
The books would benefit all students in 2nd grade. Part of our curriculum students will be learning about Greek civilizations and Greek Myths. We would like to do a novel study based on the chapter book "Beast of Olympus: The Beast Keeper." In the novel the main character, Pandemonius, the half-god son of Pan, takes care of the magical beasts on Mount Olympus, but finds it challenging to keep up with the fickle demands of the gods and goddesses. Students will be able to use their knowledge of Greek Civilizations and the Greek Myths to incorporate in the story.
This illustrated chapter book series is the perfect blend of humor, adventure, and Greek mythology that we know our students will love.
This chapter book will help students use their knowledge they learned all about Greek Myths to better understand the story.
