Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are six-year-olds, who come from different kind of families. Most of them come from low-income families. The majority of my students are just learning how to read. My students need to be exposed to different kinds of literature in order to be motivated to read. My students are very eager to learn. They love to read about nature, animals, and current events. They are fascinated with how things work. They love playing games, even if they are educational.

My Project

Children have so many interests. I am hoping to have a library full of books about many different topics. Since I teach first grade, I have students with different reading levels. I am hoping to get new readers for the kids, as well as new chapter books. My students will benefit from reading at their levels and books about their interests. My classroom library will be inviting and fun for the kids to visit. I have ordered books with characters that the children already know and some non-fiction books for the kids to explore. I hope that my project gets funded soon!
